How do you get started?
Call our office to schedule your complimentary tattoo consultation. You will sit down and discuss with our provider your personalized treatment along with the risks, benefits, and alternatives to laser tattoo treatment. Pricing will also be disussed at this time depending on the size of the area to be treated. we will schedule you a later time to come back to have the treatment done.
On the day of the treatment, the patients typically come into the office one hour before procedure time to have the topical numbing cream applied to the area to be treated. The treatment itself takes approximately 20-30 minutes depending on the size of the tattoo. After the treatment, the area is dressed with a bandage. Ice packs are recommended to cool the area and reduce inflammation.
How Laser Tattoo Removal works?
The AlexTriVantage (TM) is a Q-switched laser that uses the 532, 755, and 1064 nm wavelengths to allow for treatment of tattoos of all colors that other laser tattoo machines are unable to treat. Q-switched lasers not only break up pigment into smaller and more absorbale particles, it also causes a selected thermal injury that furthers the absorption of the excess pigment. The AlexTriVantage (TM) Q-switched laser is different than most because it has longer pulse duration. The longer pulse duration is gentler to the skin by creating sufficient, but less cavitation of the tattoo ink under the skin. The excess pigment is still dispersed, but without the injury to the skin.
How many treatments are needed?
Typically, 6-12 treatments are recommended. These treatments are spaced apart every 6-8 weeks.
Is the treatment permanent?
Yes, once the pigment is removed it will not come back.
